Celebrating America’s Semiquincentennial: Johnson Marine Services Attends the National Archives Gala

This June, Johnson Marine Services kicked off the 250th birthday of the United States by attending the National Archives' "One Nation, Many Stories" Gala.

The evening was dedicated to celebrating two and a half centuries of cherished American stories while inspiring the next generation of history-makers. Representing our team at this monumental event were Joshua Johnson, Director of Strategic Growth and Operations, and his wife, Angelina.

Held directly on the National Mall—just blocks from Congress and the White House—the gala offered a perfect backdrop to honor the founding of our nation. Guests were treated to an exclusive private viewing of the Constitution of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights, followed by dinner and speeches from inspiring national thought leaders.

"Attending the gala and having the opportunity to hear stories from people across the country was an incredible experience. I was honored to represent Johnson Marine at this once-in-a-lifetime event." — Joshua Johnson, Director of Strategic Growth and Operations

Advocacy in Action: Protecting the U.S. Maritime Industry

This prestigious evening follows Johnson Marine’s recent legislative advocacy in Washington, D.C. In May, Josh joined forces with the American Waterways Organization (AWO) to meet with Representatives and Senators from Louisiana.

During these meetings, Josh emphasized the critical importance of the Jones Act and urged lawmakers to help end the recent Jones Act Waiver. Introduced in the spring of 2026, this waiver allows foreign-flagged vessels to transport domestic products—a move that directly threatens American maritime jobs and industry growth.

Looking Ahead

At Johnson Marine Services, we are deeply honored to play a proactive role in both shaping future policy and celebrating our nation’s rich history. We look forward to more opportunities to champion our industry as we continue through America’s historic 250th year.
